Every Grand Theft Auto game since the PlayStation 3 era has shipped with a full trophy and achievement list — and GTA 6 will be no different. While Rockstar has not released the official list yet (and almost certainly won't until much closer to the November 19, 2026 launch), trophy hunters can start planning now. Based on the series' history and everything confirmed about GTA 6, here's a thorough breakdown of what to expect.

The GTA Trophy Tradition

Rockstar has never shipped a mainline GTA without a complete trophy and achievement set. GTA 5 launched with 69 trophies on PlayStation 3, including a Platinum, covering story completion, collectibles, strangers and freaks missions, online milestones, stunt jumps, and miscellaneous challenges. GTA 4 similarly demanded 100% completion, knife flights, and specific mission grades for its full list.

GTA 6 will follow this tradition. The question is not whether there will be trophies, but how many there will be and what they'll demand — and on a map 2.4 to 2.7 times the size of GTA 5's with over 700 enterable interiors, the list is almost certainly going to be substantial.

Do Cheats Disable Trophies?

Yes — and this is historically consistent across every GTA game. If you enter a cheat code during your playthrough, trophies and achievements are disabled for that session. In GTA 5, activating a cheat blocked all trophy progress until you reloaded a pre-cheat save. GTA 6 is virtually certain to enforce the same restriction.

The implication for trophy hunters: if you want the Platinum, keep a separate save before attempting any cheat-heavy gameplay. This is standard GTA discipline, but worth emphasizing given GTA 6's confirmed new mechanics — prone crawling, zip ties, human shields — which may tempt players to experiment with cheats for sandbox fun. Do that on a different save. For more on the confirmed gameplay mechanics, see our gameplay features guide.

Expected Trophy Categories (Speculation)

Rockstar hasn't confirmed the list, but based on the series' history and GTA 6's confirmed content, here are the categories widely expected to appear:

Story Completion

The backbone of any GTA trophy list. Expect individual trophies for completing key story missions across both protagonists — Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Given the confirmed dual-protagonist structure and the Bonnie-and-Clyde narrative, there are likely separate milestone trophies for each character's story arc as well as for completing the game's major heists.

The Platinum / 1000G

Every mainline PlayStation GTA has had a Platinum trophy. GTA 6 on PS5 and PS5 Pro will certainly have one. For Xbox Series X|S players, expect 1000 Gamerscore. Earning it will almost certainly require 100% game completion — story, collectibles, side missions, and likely some online milestones.

Collectibles

GTA 5 had hidden packages, spaceship parts, nuclear waste, letter scraps, and more. GTA 6's larger map and 700+ interiors create enormous scope for collectibles. Expect multiple collectible-type trophies scattered across Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, and beyond.

Stunt and Skill Challenges

Knife flights, stunt jumps, and under-the-bridge passages are GTA staples. GTA 6's Florida-inspired setting — with its Keys bridges, coastal routes, and urban ramps — should provide plenty of geography for these challenges. Airboat stunts, boat jumps, and aerial maneuvers all feel like natural additions given the setting.

Heists are confirmed for GTA 6. Expect trophies tied to completing heists with specific conditions — perhaps completing a heist without triggering the alarm, or using a specific approach. GTA 5's heist trophies (like "Mastermind," which required completing all heists in a specific order with the same crew and no deaths) were some of the most demanding in the game. Expect something similar in GTA 6.

Wanted Level and Combat

With GTA 6's reworked six-star wanted system, there will almost certainly be trophies related to surviving high wanted levels, evading law enforcement in specific ways, or using the new mechanics — zip ties, human shields, prone crawling — in creative ways.

Online Milestones

GTA Online has been one of the most profitable entertainment products in history, and GTA 6's online multiplayer mode (widely expected but not yet detailed by Rockstar) will almost certainly carry its own trophy requirements. Tips for Trophy Hunters Planning Ahead

Since the official list isn't out yet, here's how to set yourself up for a clean trophy run:

1. Play story first, cheat never. Create a dedicated story playthrough save and never enter cheats on it. Keep cheats for a separate, separate save file.

2. Save before major heists. Heist trophies in past games often required specific conditions on first attempt. Having a pre-heist save gives you options without replaying hours of content.

3. Explore every region methodically. GTA 6's map is massive — Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park all need covering. Map out collectible searches by region to avoid backtracking.

4. Play both protagonists equally. With Lucia and Jason as dual leads, there will be character-specific content and likely character-specific trophies. Neglecting one protagonist could mean missing story-locked achievements.

5. Watch the 100% checklist. GTA 5's 100% checklist was an official in-game tracker. GTA 6 will almost certainly have the same. Check it regularly to see what categories you're missing.

What We'd Love to See

Beyond the standard categories, here's what would make GTA 6's trophy list genuinely special: trophies tied to the game's new systemic mechanics — pulling off a heist using the zip-tie mechanic in a specific way, completing a mission entirely in prone position, or using a human shield to escape a five-star wanted level. Trophies that reward creative use of the new systems, not just completion boxes, would make this the most interesting GTA list yet.

Bottom Line

Rockstar hasn't dropped the official list yet, and likely won't for a while — but trophy hunters have plenty to prepare for. GTA 6's confirmed scale (massive map, 700+ interiors, confirmed heists, dual protagonists) virtually guarantees a trophy list that's bigger and more demanding than GTA 5's 69-entry set. Start planning your clean playthrough now, keep those cheats locked away, and get ready for what could be the most rewarding Platinum in PlayStation's open-world history.
